Hi,

Have today picked up my 2004 Zetec Galaxy and am quite happy with it except that the the lines on the rear window do not work. I have had a closer look and it appears that at some point a previous owner put large stick on letters on the back, when these were removed the lines were damaged so that there was a break in the electrical contact [i guess]. Can anyone advise me what to do? Can the lines be repaired or does the rear screen need to be replaced? Any help much appreciated, thanks.

IIRC You can get "conductive paint" pens (try Maplins) but only really possible if the breaks are small.

I have the same problem with my Galaxy, the previous owner had a dog (telling from the huge amount of dog hair i found in awkard places) who i think must have licked at the window all the time, you can see the break in the lines from the drivers seat looking back through the rear view mirror and depending on how the sun shines. I guess the only remedy for me is a new rear window!
