dipsomaniac Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 has anyone got any diagrams of the throttle body/air intake system with all its parts for the v6. the pipe which runs from the main air intake back into the top of head is damaged. i think it is some sort of emmissions recycling system. mk2vr6 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 what part is damaged, the valve in the small pipe from the head, that valve is a comon part that fall aprt, get it from fords as its cheaper from them than vw Quote
dipsomaniac Posted September 21, 2007 Author Report Posted September 21, 2007 the concertina pipe going from the head to the main air intake appears split and i can see some smoke/fumes coming from that area - it may just be burning oil on the pipe. there is an occassional sucking noise around there and i am not sure if it is the evap or something else. mk2vr6 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 the small pipe from the head that goes to the big pipe to the throttle body will have oil in it, if the big pipe has split this will leak out,the big pipe is available from the dealers, but be carefull as some of the new pipes dont have a dent in it for the brake resivoir,a bit of gentle heat with a hot airgun and some pressure and you can make one Quote
dipsomaniac Posted September 21, 2007 Author Report Posted September 21, 2007 thanks mk2vr6. are we talking about the same pipe as it is not near brake master cylinder? i have attached image. Quote
dipsomaniac Posted September 21, 2007 Author Report Posted September 21, 2007 have now found it. it is the pcv (positive crankcase ventillation) valve. Quote
mk2vr6 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 thats the one i first thought you meant, yes that one will have oil ond smoke in it Quote
mk2vr6 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 if its the first bit of pipe that goes to the pcv then its and easy job, just get a new bit of pipe from halfords,if its the valve that is broke get a new one from ford part number is 7 364 573 or from eurocarparts my mate says they sell it Quote
dipsomaniac Posted September 22, 2007 Author Report Posted September 22, 2007 thanks mk2vr6. that is another job on my list behind fixing leak from cooling fan switch. refitting bumper, headlights, and grille. fitting new wipers, tyre and heater matrix. Quote
mk2vr6 Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 i cant find the ford part number for the little crinkled hose after the valve but the vw number is 7M0128105 Quote
