Guest piperdog Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 heres the story ,ive just got a 2001 gal ghia .on the cruise control stalk ,the button that you press in to set the speed as on my t reg ghia should also accelerate the gal when pushed in,but the resume button does this and the accelarator button seems to decelarate the gal. looking in the handbook it tells me that it should do as initially explained but my dealership who checked this system out now says the book is wrong and its operating fine ......can anyone confirm the action of the cruise controls on the y reg model thru experience....thanks Quote
NikpV Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 Push end of stalk to activate CC keep pressed in will decelerate, pull res switch against spring pressure towards end of stalk once to resume previous set cc speed and constantly to accelerate. Well thats how it worked 15 mins ago just before I got home Quote
NikpV Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 Sorry should have said - Y reg Ghia 1.9 TDI Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 My Jan 2001 X-reg - works same as Nikpv describes, and the handbook is wrong. Quote
