Rac man said not the clutch which i agree with as it feels no different. he did say , however, that it was more than likely the shaft that 'drops' into the top of the gearbox which determines wheich gear is being selected. has anyone had this problem before?? if so, roughly how much would it be to repair? andrew welsh1958 Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 same thing happend to me last sat, it turned out to be a BOLT in the gear linkage that sits on top of the box,cost of bolt 42p, if you can get snapped piece of bolt out, if not new shaft( cost 22 pounds).-- pm me your tel number and il will ring you if u like Quote

nohomers Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Yea we had a T reg VW Sharan that had the same prob (twice!!) turned out to be the bolt on the selection lever that goes into the box. 1st time round we had the G/box removed to check for debris in the casing ( Quote
