Tinted Windows

Thought I would bring this up as I have just come accross the attachment below.

and also if you get stopped. The police discribe in most cases the two side windows between thw a&b piller as part of the wind screen.

If they do plead not guilty in court and the case will get thrown out.

i know this as the window tint firm that share the same unit with me had the same happen to them.

All the police can really do is advice you on a safety aspect to remove it but as always what vosa state and what is law is in reality totally different.

and sorry to use a pun but this is very much a gray area and no one can shed much light on it when pushed to state the law ;) ;)

I would suggest checking Section 32 of the Road Vehicles Regulations in particular the amendment 1st January 2004.

as i said if they quote on the ticket that your wind screen is tinted ( as the front two side windows according to the police are part of the wind screen) :blink:

then you have grounds to fight it and win

as this is down to the wording of the police being incorrect :lol: :blink:

also pictures of a p.c or two that have their car tinted inc the front 2 windows help :lol:

this is my experence on the fact and as such only here to help :lol:

but as always can also be as easly be ignored :lol:

My reply could have been a bit more polite......me being lazy.

 

As you say, what the law is and how the police and courts interpret it are not always the same.
