Fuel Smell

hello

i ve got 1996 galaxy 2 ltr petrol manual mpv runs fine starts fine but there a smell of petrol not when driving along but when ive stopped and get out of the car i,m getting around 20 mpg can,t see any leaks (but i do short journeys)any ideas what it could be
