Guest Shazza Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I think the floor space by the side of the handbrake is wasted space and the manufacturers could have built a little console there for putting your odds & sods in. I bought some pencil tins and used the lids, which I have stuck onto the floor with sticky fixers and they're ideal for a couple of pens, packet of Polos, sunglasses etc, things you need to hand if you're driving or front-seat passenger. I would also like a little well in the floor beside the front doors, so that you could store a torch or umbrella. I don't find the door pockets very good, they could be a bit wider. And the drinks holders should be flexible so that if you put a plastic bottle in there, you could tighten the holder. They are only designed for cans, and several times I've had bottles of pop fall out and empty themselves into the footwells when I've gone round a corner or roundabout. Shazza Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 What about moving the handbrake to between the side of the seat and the driver's door, freeing up the centre "aisle" to walk through to the middle row, or giving spave for a proper centre storage bin? Or even a return to the old "umbrella" handbrake under the top part of the dash? Quote
pj_andrew Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 My wife often sits in row 2, middle seat, and she can stretch her feet out into the spaces on either side of the handbrake. Perhaps that was what the space was left for ! The cup holders hold childrens drink bottles - you know the lovely Barbie or Thomes ones. Also those water bottles with pull out bottle lids fit well. No spillage problems. One thing I would like is a sliding division in the front door pockets. I could then put a 2 litre bottle of water in, slide the divider up to it and not have it fall over every time I start/stop. I hear you say, "Lay it down", true, but I'm worried it'll leak ! Good idea about the umbrella storage. Quote
johnb80 Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Isn't this space needed for rotating the front seats round to face backwards ? Regards - JB Quote
Guest Shazza Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 Don't know. I've never rotated my front seats to face backwards. All they'd be facing is my dog cages (I've only got 1 seat behind the front passenger seat, all my other seats have been removed and replaced by cages). Shazza Quote
NikpV Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 Yes, when the seats swivel the backs get pretty close to the handbrake, the Kids just love a picnic ruined by the weather at this time of the year - nothing better than rubbing sandwiches in to daddys car seats Quote
