Smilge Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 Leigh, what you'll have to do is to get the engine nice and hot and have a good look round the hoses, radiator etc and dare I mention it? ........ the dreaded head gasket between the block and the head. Is it dripping or seeping when cold? How about the air con ...cos that leaves a nice puddle of water under the car when it's been used? Quote
dewsy Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 washer bottle perhaps??i will look Quote
dipsomaniac Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 how much are you losing? is it coolant, windscreen washer, a/c? was it leaking before you changed oil/filter? Quote
dewsy Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 how much are you losing? is it coolant, windscreen washer, a/c? was it leaking before you changed oil/filter?no it weas all fine before oil change Quote
dipsomaniac Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 you need to identify what it is first. collect some in a container, if you still can't confirm if coolant or washer fluid. top up coolant and windscreen wiper bottle and see which one goes down. Quote
dewsy Posted August 30, 2007 Author Report Posted August 30, 2007 its my radiater can i fix it easily or need a new one or its the pipe on it Quote
dipsomaniac Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 i don't see how the rad got damaged while changing oil/filter?? you need to establish if hose or rad. you will have one hose going into top or rad and one coming out of the bottom. you will probably need to remove undertray and investigate with a torch. if rad, you can solder if not caused by corrosion. otherwise you will need to replace rad.
