big_kev Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Try here item 11 Come back if you still have problems http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=7886 p.s. It is definitly the service indicator that is the problem ? Can you give description of what it displays ? Quote
AndyMan Posted September 12, 2007 Report Posted September 12, 2007 VAG-COM will do it but can cost a couple of hundred - see www.ross-tech.com. Mk 1 Galaxy could reset service indicator using the trip odometer button hold one in whist switching on the ignition IIRC. Anyone got a better memory than me? Andy Quote
archer34 Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 when i turn r on orange engine light comes on and makes a beeping sound then it stays orange while i drive it is the srevice light innit ? cause when we got car the srevice miles were clocking down then it would beep to say service due then orange light started coming on and making beep sound Quote
mumof4 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Its telling you that the car is due a service...If the car has been serviced recently then the garage should have reset it.Try disconnectiong the battery for 15 mins and see if that resets it..might do..might not.If you do this then have the keycode for the radio. Are you saying the engine management light is on constantly??..Hmm..IIRC..that does not stay on for a service due... init???..translated as isnt it?? Quote
NikpV Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 certainly on the mk2 there is no orange light - it just says 'service now' and I think beeps once at start up - this then disappears - if it is the same with the mk1 then you have another warning :31: Quote
archer34 Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 have just checked i have a mk11 ford galaxy 1.9 tdi 6 speed x reg Quote
archer34 Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 mine beeps and stays on while i drive on mk11 on milage thing it says service as i switch engine on then miles appear it only started to do this when the service miles went to zero what could it be we have just changed timing belt cam belt oil filters and fuel filter Quote
mumof4 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 where did the LX come from then????????? :31: not bad..LX to TDi.. you have an engine management problem..its not the service now you have a problem with..summit is wrong with your car. Quote
mumof4 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 ahh..more details!!...did you do all that yourself or a garage?? Quote
archer34 Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 i am goin to holliways garage now with it to see what it is i'll let use no Quote
archer34 Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 me partners mate done it all for us :31: Quote
insider Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 On the Mk2 there is no orange service light. "SERVICE" will appear in the LCD screen for a few seconds before the mileage is displayed. This can be easily reset using the procedures described. If your orange light is the an engine symbol then the ECU is telling you that there is a fault somewhere. The fault code(s) would need to be checked by someone with diagnostic equipment. where did the LX come from then????????? :31: not bad..LX to TDi..Another blonde moment?LX = trim level (LX, Zetec or Ghia)TDI = engine Quote
mumof4 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Ah well....lot on my mind at the mo. Quote

archer34 Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 sorry it's a :31: galaxy lx tdi Quote
mumof4 Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Soo..you are now saying that the oil warning was on?????????..this is the light you were on about?? the oil warning is an oil can.It means you need oil.put oil in her..if the light stays on then disconnect the battery. He means the oil level sensor..they cost 65 quid from fords. On the MKII depending on what comes up it could be oil pressure also. also..can you please stop useing text speak??makes it harder to understand and not everyone understands it. on the MKII you will get a service now along with a beep to let you know that it needs a service.0 miles means it needs doing now. Im getting confused with all that you are saying.. it helps if you put all the info in one post like that you knew that the oil light was showing. Quote
archer34 Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 yes when i start it up after couple seconds orange oil can comes on with a beeping sound then noise goes oil can stays on its full of oil we just done it sum1 said it wer service light lol sos but ford man saying faulty sensor light im tryin to get partner to dissconnect battery but he having a bet on horses gunna try it soon Quote
