Mfd Sat Nav Unit?

Hi i heard its possible to get a MFD sat nav unit for the ford galaxy and thought id ask here if its possible to get one for a ford escort anyone know where i could find out from? What company makes them? what are the dimensions? what housing would i need for it, etc etc ??

Hiya Goldfinger ....... mmmmm ... I doubt it unless you are capable of fitting CAN-BUS to your escort. Its Double Din anyway and interfaces with the CAN BUS so that you can run a CD changer through it. It also requires a GALA connection. To be honest, you're better off buying yourself a separate cheaper GPS system as these things arn't cheap.

Yes i was going to but the thought of setting it up everytime i get in/out the car, thought id look into getting a built in unit.

 

So my Escort wouldn't have any of thos connections already?

 

The escort is a S reg the last model to be made,

There are some other built in systems you can get matey, but again very expensive. I very much doubt your Escort will have the connections required as post 2000 was the big turnaround for fitting a CAN BUS to most cars. Have a shop around matey and there's bound to be someone else on here who can give you some more pointers.
