Disconnecting The Battery...

Hey you all!

 

I need to put in a new stereo in my wife's Galaxy (Mk1).

However, having removed the old stereo, it would appear that the previous owner had done a bit of DIY wiring to fit the old stereo in. As a result, I also need to adjust the wiring to fit the new stereo in. Being a novice at this sort of stuff I figure it would be prudent to disconnect the battery before messing around with the wiring.

 

Is there anything to take into account before I disconnect the battery?

You will lose any security code in the radio - so check you know it first.

Don't really mind too much about loosing the stero code as I am replacing stereo.

still be worth having the code to the original stereo unless you dont mind leaving the new one in when the time comes to sell your car.

I am planning to connect my MP3 player to CD player in 2.0LX Auto 2003 ford mondeo. Can you help me out where I can connect my 3.5mm jack from MP3 player to the AUX socket. I want to know wherre the Aux socket is located? Is it the same as cigar charger?
