wizzy Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Hi I have purchased an Alpine screen with integrated bluetooth. To enable this system to work I have to connect wires to the foot brake lead and the hand brake. The instructions state connect this lead to the power supply side of the switchIn the Galaxy do they switch the live or earth? Quote
insider Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 The colour code for the power supply side of the switches is: Foot brake - red/yellow. Handbrake - brown/white (Mk2) or brown/green (Mk1). In both cases the ground wire is brown. Quote
wizzy Posted August 13, 2007 Author Report Posted August 13, 2007 Thanks for the information I can see the wires to the handbrake and they look to be brown and have a 12V supply I will be fitting an Alpine touch screen monitor into the central glove box on my GalaxyBefore final fitting into the car I decided to try it out I have a motor cycle battery which I used for the 12V supplyThe unit switches on and works great the problem happens when I try to use the set-up screenIt has a message stating this feature cannot be used whilst the car is in motionThere are two cables that normally would connect to the hand and foot brakeThe instructions state connect this lead to the power supply side of the switch but the is the same as putting a 12V supply onto the connectionDoes anybody know if this is correct?
