hi i'm new to the forum and i have read the questions and answers but cant seem to find my problem. From what i can see you guys have a wealth of knowledge and hope you can help me with my problem.

Bought a ford galaxy 1999 2.3 manual ghia x 2 weeks ago very pleased to be the new owner but just have one problem at the moment, the wipers seem to have a mind of their own. The front wipers will come on as and when they want to cant turn them off they stay on for about 5 mins then turn off themselves. No water found in passenger footwell so i dont think the electrics are getting wet. Dont know what else to look for. Please can somebody help me as this is driving my wife crazy.

Many thanks in advance

Water and/or corrosion in electronic wiper control module located on the wiper motor. It is possible to strip this down and carefully clean with PCB (Brake) cleaner and a toothbrush. (Good job as a replacement costs

Having spent many happy  hours dismantling the wipers I concur with seatkid that the place to go is the control module on the wiper motor. The only other possibility is the wiper switch (does this operate the wipers normally BTW?)

If cleaning the control board and checking the connections don't work then start scouring e-bay as I managed to get a replacement motor for about
