Guest stuart hook Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 I have a mondeo (p reg)2000cc, 16 valve z tec. It stalled when changing gear and when I stopped I realised it had overheated and was smoking badly. It wouldn't re start and still won't now. There is fuel and a spark at each plug and there seems to be compression too. The engine seems to have "no weight" to it when turning over. In fact you can have all of the HT leads off and the engine noise does not change when its turning. It makes no attempt to fire. The timing belt around the cams is still intact. Can anyone help please ? Is it possible that the timing belt has slipped and therefore the timing is out ( but there is no sound as I would expect if the valves were damaged due to this) or is it possible something has been cooked when it overheated, any ideas where i should start. Thanks Quote
