Hi, I'm Pete and I live and work in orkney. I found this site when I was researching on the most suitable used mpv for my growing family, one 7yr old and 2 1/2yr old twins.

After much searching I narrowed it down to one of the three, Seat Alhambra, VW Sharan or Ford Galaxy, my preference being the Ford as I thought it best to obtain replacement parts up here in the sticks. I eventually found an 03 1.9 TD 130 BHP Ghia Galaxy with 46K, I had to travel down to Blythe, near Newcastle for it, it looked immaculate with a full service history and after a test drive I done the deal.

I have had it for 3 weeks and have drove 1500 miles problem free (touch wood). We all love this car with the sense of space and high up position.

I think that this site will be very usefull and I am very glad to have found it.

one thing? the log book says the colour is silver but it looks very like a mild goldy colour, can anyone tell me what colour this car is?

thanks a lot.

Hiya Pete ..... welcome from me too ....... sounds like you got your handsful there mate ...... hopefully not with the car though. Touchwood, mine is same age but with a bit less mileage than yours and I haven't had any probs with mine apart from the self inflicted. Look forward to your posts.

Regards

Chris

The colour will be Platinum.

Sorry, I think I might have misled you! The age of your car suggests it may be Oyster Silver. Ford (slightly) changed the colour when they freshened the Mk IIs, the difference being chrome around the fog lights and front grille and a different rear light cluster (see below).

Platinum is a marginally lighter shade used on the later models. This is important to know to avoid you getting the wrong shade if you decide to touch any of the paintwork up.

Oyster Silver
