It Doesn't Rain It Poors! Aircon Problem

Guys

 

Of all the bloody days to pack in my Aircon has stopped kicking out any cold air at all.

 

Before I send it off to th edealers to get fixed, are there any simple things I can check myself, first?

Gave up on ours, Ford dealers useles just employ uninterested kids, cost us alot of money for nothing and damaged our galaxy in the prosses we just open the rear windows in the lugage area and with the climate control managing the fan speed it copes not to bad at all will still look out for good enthusiastic ac engineer dont mind spending the money with somebody that is interested and keen to make the effort to help you

Check that the clutch on the air con compressor is engaging when the air con is turned on. When it engages the centre of it (three bolt heads visible) spins. If it is not spinning see if you have 12V to the clutch and if not look for electical issues. If it is spinning look at the mechanical system. Most air con issues are caused by leaks.

 

Also if you have climate control, when the low or high pressure protection switch had operated, it flashes the LCD display when you first turn on the engine.
