Guest Rockdoctor Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I'm trying to sort out a buzzing noise at high speed coming from the left windscreen/dashboard area. One possibility is the battery cover - a big bit of plastic that is moulded to cover the battery on my 02 2.3 petrol ghia gal.One tag has broken off - which I can repair, but the thumbscrew that holds it in place is missing. The other one is still there, so I know what it looks like; a plasticky screw with a thumb grip at the top. I can't see an easy way to make my own, so I guess I ought to buy a replacement. Any idea what they are called by Ford, so I can order one? Quote
chromedome Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 It's normally caused by the plastic trim that runs along the outside bottom edge of the screen. I bit of fiddling about and some sticky pads normally cures it. Common problem. Quote
NikpV Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 yes - I have some folded / rolled up DPC stopping mine from doing it - almost invisible Quote
Guest Rockdoctor Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 Thanks - I've put some pads under the left side (where the noise appeared to be coming from) but it made no difference. I'd still like to get the screw-thing to hold down the battery cover properly - anyone got any ideas (or a spare one)? Quote
sal_park Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 what about some tie wraps ? you can even get re-usable ones, but I guess either would be pretty suitable given how often the cover should come off. Quote
mumof4 Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 never had a cover on mine...so cant help you there...... Quote
