vinny Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 hello i have a problem with my reversing lights they don,t work tried pushing hard in reverse gear (as mention)but nothing check fuses they are ok is there anything i can pinpoint it to and one other small thing is the alarm seems to go of at the worst times ie when raining or at night but every other day maybe Quote
insider Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I assume you've checked the bulbs? (unusual for them both to have failed though)Do you have a manual or auto gearbox and is it a petrol or diesel engine? You should check the reversing light switch. As for the alarm, does it have ultrasonic sensors inside the car? If so, is something in the car able to move to set them off? Have any windows been left open so that the wind could move something inside? Quote

sparky Paul Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 i ve checked bulbs it,s a manual 2ltr petrol 1996 is the reversing light switch on gearbox? On a vehicle of that age, I would check the wiring in the tailgate flexy - if it hasn't already been repaired - It only takes a couple of minutes to check. The reversing lamp switch is on the top of the gearbox. I don't think it's difficult to remove, but you could just short out the plug first, see if the lamps come on - will at least tell you if the switch is kaput. Quote
