RAL Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) Hello, My cruise control is not working. I did find the pipe to the vacuum pump perished at both ends so I did replace it but no joy, cruise control still does not work. I believe there is no fuse that only powers the cruise control because I would have noticed other things not working. I have looked at the handbook and there appears to be no relay for the cruise control. I suppose it would be worth trying to see if the pump powers up, any ideas how I could do this? If I am correct, to activate cruise control you must be doing at least 30mph, feet not touching clutch or brakes and press the set button in to activate the cc (as described in handbook). Could someone give a quick description of how cruise control works on the Galaxy. I have read there are servos involved in the system Regards Edited July 31, 2007 by RAL Quote
antony Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 I too have cruise control problems. My Cruise packed up completely for no apparent reason. I then noticed the cables broken to the indicator so i replaced the complete indicator, wiper unit. I tried the cruise control again to no avail. I have a 2000 alhambra 1.9 TDi SE From what i have read the diesels dont have the vacuum system. so where do i go now? What do the switches look like on the brake / clutch pedals. And why aint there a fuse or relay for the cruise control. I cant find any reference to relays in these cars anyway. Quote
