Well I took a leap of faith and traded in my 3 year old Scenic DCi for a SEAT Alhambra s 1.9TDi. I paid

Welcome to the forum!

Do you have the sevice book? If so, ring the delaers whose stamp appear.

Do you know who actually owned it before? (should be on the V5)? Worth giving them a call and seeing if they will tell you anything. I did this with a previous car which was owned by PHH Allstar. They confirmed it was one of their own cars, not leased to anyone else, and that it had never been accident damaged. They wouldn't release any of the service receipts etc, but the book was fully stamped up with all the services recorded.

Good luck!

 Thanks for the prompt reply.

I do not have any service books, but I will try the V5.

I also can not get the rear 12v sockets to work. Any ideas. Front one works.

Ask a SEAT dealer to check their computer for Reg No. or chassis No. - if it has been dealer serviced it should show up there.

Check fuses - its a 20A (Yellow) on mine

I have an Alhambra and fitted rear parking sensors (4) myself, they are really simple to install you just splice the sensor power feed off the rear wiring for the reversing light and mount the unit in the rear of teh car by the jack. Took about an hour all in all, but I must say it is well worth it

 Thanks for the information.

I will have a go with the Parking sensors.

My car model is an Alhambra S. I notice both seats have wires leading up to them underneath. Does this mean there should be seat belt lights on the dash. Nothing appears to come on to warn me to belt up. If this is not an option, why would there be wires connected underneath ??

Any ideas out there????

The other query I have is about the main headlights. When i switch to main beam I get a blue light warning me it is on in the dash. However normal dippied headlights no green light. Is this normal ????

Thanks People.

No light on dash for dipped. No seat belt lights. Wires are probably for seatbelt tentioner activation. Get yourself a replacement CD head unit, as I've done much cheaper & far better quality. :(

:( Hello Gazza007.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Sorry to be so dense, but what is a replacement CD head unit ??

What does it do.

How much etc.

Cheers.

No problem, you are basically replacing the factory fitted SEAT Scala with something better. I replaced mine with a Kenwood Unit that will play CD's & MP3.

MP3 is compressed music format, you can rip files from your existing CD's or download files off the Net. It means that you can get about 10 albums on a standard CD.

See following thread for more info

If you have a Scala radio, you can connect it to a 6 CD changer. I have done so (or I should say had it done), and the changer is in the rear side compartment in the boot.

 After alot of thought about choices of head unit and Multi-play CD's, I have decided to fill the empty space under the Scala Head unit with the VW single CD player. Yes I know it is the same price or even more than a multi-play, but I am used to this option and prefer to be able to change CD's on the move.

My question is about whether any of the higher specc Alhambras have a stalk remote to operate the Scala unit, and if so does anyone know whether I can purchase a different stalk to operate the existing kit.
