Alanuk Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Hi All, Would just like to start by thanking everyone who has given their time and knowledge to this group, it has been a fantastic help to me over the past couple of years and far better than any haynes manual!! I feel its long overdue for me to give something back...so here goes. I recently encountered a problem with the central locking on my gal where the drivers door failed to lock with the remote key, I also noticed that the trip milometer would reset to "0" every time I returned to the car after a journey. After refering to Nikpv's excellent post in the faq, I checked the wiring loom in the door pillar to the drivers door, here I found a couple of wires with slightly bared insulation, I taped these up with insulation tape and put everything back together. It would seem that these wires had caused a short circuit and blown a 5amp fuse at position 19, replaced this and everything is back to normal again!! Although I know that this is a very simple fix (and to most a very obvious one) I hope it may help others noobs from getting ripped off by our frendly Fraud stealers telling you that you need a new central locking actuator!! Keep up the good work everyone and thanks again. Quote
