oafcowl Posted July 20, 2007 Author Report Posted July 20, 2007 The drop links were from a local motor factors, The ones I have just put on my car are a ford part, and youre right hey do look more substantial. Answer to the earlier post, I did move the droplink from side to side and up and down but couldnt feel any play, plus you would think they would last longer than 2-3 months! Quote
Smilge Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 A wife and 4 screaming girls!!!!!!? ........ good luck matey in Devon ...... me thinks you'll need another break when you get back. I've got to do the same job on mine as the same problem was picked up on the MOT ...... good result for you anyway. Quote
Shabazmo Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 "I did move the droplink from side to side and up and down but couldnt feel any play," No, I mean rock the car not the drop link. If your car has roof bars, grap hold of them and rock the car, or open the front dor and rock the roof. The drop links will always feel solid because they are under load from the antiroll bar and strutt.Regards Quote
oafcowl Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 Got back from our holiday yesterday and the old gal ran a dream, pulled my trailer, bike rack four bikes plus all of us no problem!!. No more clunking the car was apleasure to drive. Brilliant on fuel, filled up before we left, got stuck on the M5 for four hours(due to the floods) so the car was sat running/crawling along, and the same at bristol, got to devon aprox 280miles, drove around for the week so probably in total 350miles. Filled up on the way back and it only cost Quote
