zeVan Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 TIS and Microcat state, that for Galaxy 2001 V6 I need 7xR16 PCD 5x112 ET59 alloy wheels. Elsa states the same for Sharan. That's ok, but it is very difficult to find alloys with such ET, except used ones or new from dealer (but I don't want them :16:). I saw here on the forum, that people use alloys with ET42-45, alloy wheels sellers say that ET42-45 is ok too. Ok, alloys with a ET42-45 may fit, but as I know, it unrecommended to use wheels with ET so much different from recommended by manufacture (max allowed difference is about 6mm only!), because that puts much bigger pressure on a suspension (resulting in earlier suspension parts replacement than it would be with wheels with recommended ET). So the question is - how much do you drive with non-standart ET wheels and how often do you need to repair your suspension parts? Quote
sip Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Late answer, but it's worth reading this: http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html I recently bought some used Galaxy Ghia alloys and they just happen to be ET59, but everything else tells me that the ET for my MkI should be 35-45. Haven't fitted them yet but I will most likely now try to sell them on eBay and recover some of the cost. Hope that helps. Quote
