raymac Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 (edited) I have been wondering of late how many people on this forum who have had or who are having problems with their aircon have the system serviced and at what intervals? Having had a condenser/drier replaced last year ,paid for by company i bought the Gal off, i was advised by the aircon company that it was better to run the aircon/climate control all the time and that it should be serviced and a new reciever/drier fitted every 2yrs , i will be getting mine serviced and drier replaced next may, do you think this is good advice or are the aircon people just trying to get my money? seatkid Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 If it works don't touch it. You're wasting your money. Get it topped up if it stops working or you feel its underperforming badly. Dryer only needs changing if the system has been taken apart to have major bits changed or there has been complete loss due to say a big hole in the condensor. Quote
davec Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Do you ever spray that anti bac stuff ,mine has a bit of a smell when it starts up but soon goes Quote
seatkid Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 1. Try a new pollen filter. 2. Try spraying dettol air freshener on recirc setting (lowest fan speed) into the intake under the passengers side. 3. If all else fails you need one of those antibac treatment kits or a nose clip.... :16: Mine never smells.....I'm a clean living guy...... ;) Quote
davec Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 its in for service soon I'll try the dettol in the meantime do you know where the air intake is looked at one of the air fresheners and it said spray in the recirculating ventThanks a lot Quote
