They are located......on the engine! -_-

 

Sorry....Never heard of an engine speed sensor - maybe you mean cam position sensor or even crankshaft position sensor.

Hi Zonegod

 

You have a 1999 Galaxy 2.3 GhiaX (you can add it as a signature in My Controls to make life easier)

 

Is it the speed sensor on top of the gearbox at the back? In the pic, its ringed in red but is further back than it looks. When mine got waterlogged, I lost speedo

 

Do I get a Chubba Chub -_-

the engine speed sensor is also known as the crankshaft position sensor - on your engine it's down the back near the oil filter, held in with an 8mm bolt and a square multiplug attached - about

Hi

 

Im sorry i havent been able to reply to everyones posts

the engine cuts out and i lose everything like power steering

and clocks,although it starts back up and then after a while it

occurs again.

A friend of mine used his car tester/computer and it said

enigine speed sensor was faulty but no error code.

I just wondered where it was so i could get an idea if it was

easy to repair myself

I had similar symtoms on a Saab 900, once the engine temp got up to normal, the engine would just die and after 5-10 mins it would start again then cut out once it got back up to temp.

 

The culprit was the Crank position sensor, just as you suspect yours is. The one for the saab was about

  • 6 years later...
