How Hard Is It To A Diesel Engine For A 01 Mondeo

i am thinking of buying a jan 02 2.0ltr diesel mondeo. looks like it needs a engine are they hard to come bye a good secondhand one and what problems will i have putting it in .is the pump chipped i have been told the mondeo diesels are rubbish and told to leave it alone any help please thanks

I wouldn't bother buying it if it needs an engine bigted ..... there are plenty out there with good engines and at a reasonable price. I had a mk3 TDCI for 4 years and never once had a problem with it .... mind you i did get it serviced every year. It went like the clappers to!

Ill second that.

I had a TDCI Estate for a couple of years and it was fantastic.

went like stink and cheep to run.

Im sure you could get a second hand engine as its such a common lump but i would look for one with a good engine as theres so many to choose from.
