seatkid Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 (edited) You have checked the battery of course..... Are you saying the starter motor doesnt turn? Then have been a number of posts lately which turned out to be a duff starter motor. Edited July 2, 2007 by seatkid Quote
garry Posted July 2, 2007 Author Report Posted July 2, 2007 Battery fine tested well and ive peak charged it... the starter dosnt turn at all not a peep.....its in the garage having the ecu look at for faults....but your ideas would still be nice. Quote
garry Posted July 3, 2007 Author Report Posted July 3, 2007 (edited) i now know what is worng with her....... the immobiliser is staying on and not turning off...i think the code has some how been removed some how, may water damage its been reprogrammed today so hopfully she will be on the go later today.. Edited July 3, 2007 by garry Quote
seatkid Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 Immobiliser doesnt stop starter motor. Either your starter motor is duff, wiring, ignition switch or fuse for the starter solenoid. Or those neon lights are too much for the battery......... Quote
garry Posted July 4, 2007 Author Report Posted July 4, 2007 on the ECU the Immobiliser was a problem but the isolator swith on the gearstick needs replaceing as well should have her back 2morrow hopfully Quote

seatkid Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Can't be much of a garage to sort this one... Is this an 4 x 4 automatic? You're down to ignition switch, wiring, fuse or isolator switch (wiring to or adjustment of) You do realise that automatics have to be in N or P and (IIRC) have the foot on the brake to start? Quote
garry Posted July 6, 2007 Author Report Posted July 6, 2007 yes its the V6 4x4 auto isolator switch has been changed they think its a wireing fault its not a ford garage they do subaru`s for a living but i trust them...the fuses seem to be ok is there a relay on that wireing loom that could have gone if so where.. seatkid Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 i asked the garage what the problem was but they will not tell me they just say its fixed and should be ok now..its was either very simple to fix or very hard and they dont want to give it away.. In which case its obvious they fitted the wrong isolator switch or connected it up wrong. Scoobydoobydoo!! ;) :D :16: Quote
