zeplin43 Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Take a look at the back right handside (luggage comportement) there is a hole where normaly we keep the jack. You will find a stiker with all the cars caracteristics.66kw = 90hp 80kw = 110hp Quote

Cathy Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 Find the engine number - it is printed on your V5 registration doc. 1st letters denote engine fitted 1Z = 90ps (EuroII)AHU = 90ps (EuroIII)AFN = 110ps This doesn't work for mine - My VIN no starts WFO and the engine number starts WU Quote
seatkid Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 (edited) You must have the special 0ps north-east version  Or is that engine code YI? Edited July 3, 2007 by seatkid Quote
tomy Posted July 5, 2007 Author Report Posted July 5, 2007 My engine number starts with TC???????? Quote
jimjamjo Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 (edited) If you look on the timing belt cover on the Mk1 TDi the engine number is on a sticker which is hopefully still intact. Mine was 1Z (whereas the V5 engine number showed TD55209 and 1Z was not in the VIN/Chassis number) Edited July 5, 2007 by jimjamjo Quote
turk90210 Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 well if the car is original and no one has messed about with the tdi badge on the rear you could sometimes tell just by looking at thata plain chromed tdi badge was a 90a red outlined tdi badge was a 110 Quote

Charlie Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Had a look at Ford TIS and found the following information, Engine Code ANU 66kw (90ps) AUY 85kw (115ps) ASZ 96kw (130ps) ASZ1 110kw (150ps) I could only find this info on a white label located on the timing belt cover, it doesn't seem to correspond with any information on the VIN plate located under the drivers side bonnet hinge in the small gap Earlier cars, may be 2 or 3 characters, located on the timing belt cover or front of the engine 1Z 90ps (built to 15/09/96) or AHU (built from 16/09/96)AFN 110ps (built from 11/97) Quote
