Guest kev Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 :o Just picked up 2.3 with rear screens. I can play videos but not live tv. Can anyone tell me if/how it is possible to receive live transmission like on coaches. Thankyou Quote
Guest ianock Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Would you need a TV licence???? As soon as you drive off your property your 'house' licence will not cover you, then again how would the BBC find out :o Quote
Guest ianock Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Heres something I found, If you or any other person uses a TV in your static caravan or mobile home and another is being used in your main home at the same time, you'll need a separate TV Licence. However, if a TV isn't being used in your static caravan or mobile home at the same time as in your home, you don't need a separate TV Licence :o Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 A car isn't really a mobile home, so has the law failed to keep up with technology? Quote

Guest kd035050 Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Why would want to watch eastenders or emerdale while out in the car, is this some sort of fetish? Quote
Guest EVSS Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 we had this conversation with the tv licensing people . they sent us a letter when we had our industrial unit wanting to know why we didnt have a tv license, when we replied it was an industrial unit and we didnt have a tv or aerial it was ok. I then went on to ask about mobile tvs as we fitted them and the gentleman was a bit dumbfounded and said he would have to get back to me.To his credit he rang back a couple of days later and confirmed that there were no plans to chase people with mobile tvs as it would become a very time consuming exercise. Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 chasing people with mobile TV's - brings a strangely surreal image to my mind!Anyway, the TV is supposed to go off once the vehicle is moving, so then you're not a mobile TV watcher! Quote
Dally Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Ivor But your rear passengers can be watchers!! Quote
