Richmond Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 I thought day time lights are brighter than ordinary dipped beam so that they can be seen in daylight. Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 The OE DLR's are the dipped beam lamps run at reduced level, non OE DLR's may be brighter than dipped beam? Quote
seatkid Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 It is illegal to drive with fogs on in the UK unless the visibility is less than 100m. (Reference Law RVLR reg 27). It is amazing how many people don't know this and use them in other conditions. As I can't see 100m I guess its all right to drive with them all the the time  Quote
Guest T120 Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 All those hoons who drive around with fog lights on should all be locked up for breaking the law as quoted by Mr T and plod has a lot to do with this because they never seem to prosecute anyone :( . But don't these idiots realise when they see other K*~?heads with the fog lights on, driving towards them especialy on a WET road how much extra glare they produce as this makes the idiots driving more unsafe as they recieve the extra glare. seatkid Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 How about locking up all those with HID lights (esp the turn round corner types) - FAR more glare than any modern fog light which are set to illuminate immediately in front and to side of car. And what about blue lighting craze among the less well educated. Is it legal for motorbikes to have bright blue headlights? or bright blue leds stuck in your number plate? Quote
Guest T120 Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 The only one's I've seen with a blue tinge are projector headlamps which are legal, same those fitted to cars. :) Also please explain the blue LED's on the number plates? Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Some sad people fit washer jets with coloured LED's built into them! at night with the lights switched on you get this nice blue glow across the bonnet  you can also get nuts for holding on your number plate with LED's built into them as well as exhaust pipes! http://www.speeding.co.uk/acatalog/PU_rage_ledtips.JPG nice :) where as on motorbikes you can get head light colours that clip onto the fairings in most colours to match the paintwork! not that they are legal and on most of them they do say NOT FOR ROAD USE ! not that many people take notice of that!
