mattc Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Hi, I've been messing about with the front seat and now the airbag light stays on I've tried disconnecting the battery without joy, so I was wondering if there is anyone in the Bristol area that could plug me in and give me a reset?Cheers Matt. Richard gal Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 It may or may not work but wont cost anything; Disconnect battery, unplug airbag connector multiplug on the seat, wait 5 mins and refit in reverse order. Quote
mattc Posted June 24, 2007 Author Report Posted June 24, 2007 Thanks Richard I will give that a go tomorrow and let you know how it goes..Cheers Matt. Quote

Guest wolfie Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 (edited) Yes Ouch, I was kiteboarding at our local spot and landed badly and managed to break my tib, fib and dislocated my ankle, but s**t happens ;) . unlucky! as your laid up for a while can I use you kites? ;) I need something under the 3.5 range! winds here are 17mph + gusts so all mine are a bit to big to handle  Edited July 1, 2007 by wolfie Quote

Guest wolfie Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Hi Wolfie, I fly arcs so my smallest is 10mtrs. I guess that's why I'm now in plaster......Sorry to take the thread on a tangent, but I thought it only polite to reply  took a 10m blade out and that was scary enough in a mild wind! plenty of lift! I'll stick to my 3.5 and 4.7 for now and play with other peoples big kites till I'm sure about what I want/need? mind you getting the buggy back up the hill against the wind would be nice, just once will do me ;) Quote
mattc Posted August 19, 2007 Author Report Posted August 19, 2007 Does anyone know which lead I need? Please help!!!!!!!!! Quote
richyrich Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Before you think of vag com do a search for air bag light and you will see loads of threads that will help you. It could be the clock spring in the air bag. there is a thread somewhere about how to replace it but it's not in the FAQ section so have a look around.Hope this helps. Richard Quote
mattc Posted August 21, 2007 Author Report Posted August 21, 2007 Hi, I've tried a spare seat and the airbag light is still stays lit and I've tried taking the battery off without any joy, so I've come to the vag-com. Anyone?Cheers Matt. Quote
mumof4 Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Sooo...you were fiddling around with the seat, then after that the airbag light came on.Are you sure you have put everything back the way it should be?wires etc...did any wires split/break?..You could try disconnecting the battery for 15 mins as i believe that is how long it takes to reset everything.Gonna sound daft i know, but retrace your steps, Its what i would do. mattc Posted August 21, 2007 Author Report Posted August 21, 2007 The story goes; I took the drivers seat out to install a dvd headrest with no problem, Then I did the passenger one but half way through I had to use the car and the airbag light came on because the the seat was missing and when I put the seat back the light wouldn't go out.I have tried the battery idea with no joy, so I was going to try the vag-com route.Cheers Matt. mattc Posted September 3, 2007 Author Report Posted September 3, 2007 OK then does anyone know how I can find out if my 2004 auto tdi is CAN-BUS?Cheers Matt. Quote
mike99 Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 I was going to check my air bag ecu with vag com but when you try to connect it came up with a warning saying that you can damage the ecu just by trying to connect so I never bothered. Quote
