Hi,

My passenger footwell continues to fill up with water, after rain, even though i have cleaned out both scuttle drains and confirmed their function with several (big) jugs of water.

I have also checked the washer pipes and they are ok. Any other ideas or areas to check anyone?

The windscreen appears to be original so unlikely to be poor seals on that. Have checked all door seals whilst fitting new stereo / beesting DAB aerial.

I have cut out the soundproofing mat and have it hanging up to dry - about 3 gallons drained so far - infra red heater tomorrow.

Close examination after folding back carpet and removing previously cut soundproofing reveals the area nearest the "transmission tunnel" to be the wettest.

Help!

Put the AC on for a while - look for a steady leak on to where a front passengers right foot would be. look up behind the glove box to see if condensation drips from the evaporator. If so the outlet pipe is either disconnected or blocked.

I do not know where that pipe is though

Thanks Mumof4 searched for thresas posts and found mention of the trim panel above scuttles letting water into passenger / driver footwell. Removed panels, cleaned gunge out of whole area siliconed holes and clips, refitted panels, washed car so far no water so looking good. Who'd believe such a design error could exist, the hole is right where the rubber "gutter" directs all the water from roof and windscreen. Hope it's really fixed this time, getting rather bored sitting in the car whilst fan heater and hot air gun dry out carpet and what's left of the underfelt and soundproofing.

Cheers

Colin
