jimjamjo Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Hi all I've just put a replacement engine in and its running very well except for lack of power when you flaw the accelerator uphill at 2700rpm in 4th and 5th. Its had a replacement 2nd hand full engine which came with turbo and injection pump attached. VAG meter (called a CReader) gives code 023F intake manifold pressure. Any help please? Cheers Paul Quote
seatkid Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 Check blocked air filter then look for lack of turbo boost which could be due to: leaks in the vacuum operated control system (pipes or brake servo) or faulty TCS (turbo control solenoid) or wiring thereto or faulty turbo (wastegate or vane actuator sticking) or could be blocked/holed intercooler or leaking intercooler pipes, or faulty MAP (Manifold pressure sensor)/wiring or faulty MAF. jimjamjo Posted July 5, 2007 Author Report Posted July 5, 2007 (edited) Thanks SeatKid I'm pretty sure it was the turbo. The MAP was a working unit from the old engine. Newish air filter. Intercooler was unchanged and the hoses not blocked or kinked when refitted. Not sure where the TCS or MAF is.... I had a working spare turbo but didn't get the chance to fit it b4 the car was sold due to noahs ark weather. So if the new owner reads this... fit that turbo that I put in the box of bits in the boot! Edited July 5, 2007 by jimjamjo Quote
