koro Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Hi,Just found this forum after today purchasing a Sharan 1.9 S TDI PD (115bhp),picking it up in a couple of weeks. Paid Quote
_dg Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Yes the supplier mentioned by fredt is worth contacting as the module just plugs in and no faffing with wiring and scotchlock connectors. Apart from the usual - mats, carwash gear and portable vac, you will need some small steps to reach the centre of the roof! Or one of those rotating brushes that fits on the hose. I have not seen a stick on film that does not have any bubbles, scratches or edge peel. I just wonder if the glass could be replaced with tinted if it all got vandalised? Probably cost at least the Quote
koro Posted January 12, 2004 Author Report Posted January 12, 2004 Thanks very much for the information, fredt and _dg. I shall certainly be checking out the remote alarm with the link you have given :o Has anybody had the window tint applied profesionly, if so would you recomend ? Quote

I'm the wrong side of 16 stone and I can just about manage it :o Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 If you don't have a sunroof it's a bit tricky!Try standing on top of the rear tyres, holding the roof rails for extra support if you have them. Or opening the doors and standing on the sills. Quote
Guest EVSS Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 most professional companies guarantee the window tinting film against peeling, obviously if you scratch it with a sharp object it will mark. One thing to remember your glass must be perfect ie no scratches/marks chips etc, if it has any imperfections it will look a hundred times worse when tinted. we had a scorpio est done and kept the car 5 years with 2 screaming kids and the wife with no problems to the tint.as regards the remote locking , just a thought nip down to v/w and get them to check your vehicle spec against the chassis number. It may have come with remotes and the last owner sold it with just ordinary keys,we are coming accross this a lot now with most remote systems (probably trying to sell on ebay now).gary Quote
