renamecor Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Hi, I drive a VW Sharan 1.9 tdi diesel and did an article on how to change an air mass meter. I have been asked a question by a galaxy owner about whether the article would also apply to his engine and what make the air mass meter would most likely be. I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to have a look at the advice on my site and let me know if it has any relevance to a Ford Galaxy. The web page is ; http://www.carbasics.co.uk/how_to_change_air_mass_meter.htm Thanks in advance. PS - this is not a shameless plug, if the info on my site is relevant then I can alter my page to suit. Quote
big_kev Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Very nice article. The Galaxy MK1 and MK2 Diesel is actually a VW Sharan with a couple of Ford badges and trims stuck on therefore the article is extremely relevant. Quote
mumof4 Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 Why take the top of the air box of??,...no need on the Galaxy...seems more work than needed to me...doesnt take 2 ticks to get those 2 bolts off without having to take the top of the box off.... Quote

mumof4 Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 mine kept coming apart as when it was serviced..they took the top of the box off and cross threaded where the screw goes in..thats why it would never secure properly and thats why i used cable ties too secure it..when i changed the MAF..there were no probs at all.and i dropped nothing into the engine bay!!...the probs i had with mine..were not of my doing.
