Took new car for run to Dartmouth today, 310 mile round trip, it looks like my temp gauge needs looking at as its all over the place sometimes working but then not. Also it happened twice on Friday a quick trip to shops on the way back engine for a split second cut, then carried on no flashing light or any change in performance?

Then on the way home from Dartmouth again for a split second the engine cut? Again no flashing from door light ect, and then carried on with no problems? Any ideas or is it a needle in haystack, one of a hundred problems, I just have a hunch that the temp gauge not working properly and this sudden cut in engine are related but unsure.

Any ideas?

Sounds electrical...prossible dodgy relay cutting power to the spark plugs.

Unless you have been buying water...sorry I meant petrol... from Tesco's.

Hi Pete

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I appear to experiance similar issues, I've a MKII V6 on an 03 plate.

Engine power cuts for fractions of a second, sometimes repeatedly, a Relay can be heard clicking, also notice that all vechiclr light appear to dim and occationaly the Hazards flash for a few secs after its back and working. been o.k for the last month or so though !!

Do you have or have you noticed anything similar?

Regards

Graham
