Guest Biff Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I have a 2month old Mondeo TDCI 5door. It was parked outside of work the other day in heavy rain. When i went out to it later I opened the'boot' and all the water ran off the back window straight into the boot space..brilliant design concept! Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I had a similar "problem" with my old Rover 820 5-door. Most of the water would go into the drainage channels, but it had such a large "5th door" that a huge quantity of water would sit on it, ready to create a mini niagara falls when you opened it, and also water dripped from the 2 ends of the tailgate spoiler into the boot. You just need to adopt a different strategy when opening it when it's wet - open it part way, wait for most of the water to drain off into the proper drainage channels, then open it the rest of the way. Mind you, not easy to remember, or want, to do this when it's still p***ing with rain!. Quote
Guest BigSte Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I get loads of water in the boot of my mondeo, I think it comes in through a bad seal around the off-side light cluster. There's sometimes as much as a pint in there, and it's rusted my spare wheel too phuq :D maybe I should take it to the garage  Quote
