daniel5 Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 hi, new to the forum but it gave a lot of help when buying my galaxy! i have an o4 tdi 1.9 ghia aspen, recently i have found a little puddle under the nearside rear wheel arch, looking up into the rear underside seems a little damp but this liquid seems to only be water, is this a vent for the aircon or something more sinister. thanks for the advice in advance! mumof4 Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 it could be a halfy halfy car?? check your washer bottle...see if the seals etc are intact around the hoses. Quote
raymac Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 possibly be a leak from the auxilary heater Quote
mumof4 Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 well how can that be?its not under the wheel arch..its further down..and his puddle is under the wheel arch.. Quote
Guest wolfie Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 well how can that be? its not under the wheel arch..its further down..and his puddle is under the wheel arch.. more realistic than a water bottle leak! water vapour from the aux heater exhaust? as we are not yet sure of the OP's vehical we cant really sugest what it could it be? daniel5 Posted June 14, 2007 Author Report Posted June 14, 2007 hi, solved! just behind the wheelarch sems to be a rubber valve almost drillled throught the rear chassis, this looks for want of a better description like a puckered up set of lips so water can come out but not in i guess, this lets water drip onto the inside of the rear bumper, i ran the car with the heater / climate control off and no puddle, when on full the puddle appeared so i'm guessing its aircon water . the car although badged ford has a very high VW content ( engine / switchgear etc. ) dont know how much these things are supposed to share, is this what makes it a halfy halfy car? finally would anyone recommend the power booster boxes for galaxys on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Chip-TUNING-Chip-Box...1QQcmdZViewItem cheers daniel5 Quote
raymac Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 (edited) Does your Gal have rear aircon ,and what spec is it? as for the tuning chip the general consensus on here is they can cause problems as they trick the ecu in some way as to deliver more fuel (i think thats what it is ) the better but more expensive way is to get the ecu remapped ,personally i,m happy with my 115 horses  as regards to vw gear it is more vw than ford as the Galaxy ,sharan and alhambra all used to come down the same production line ,in portugal i think Edited June 14, 2007 by raymac Quote
