6000cd Unable To Input Security Code #2 Button Broke?

Hi

I have just re installed my 600CD player and have tried to input the code. Buttons 1,3,4 let me input their number but No2 doesn't work. I have tried taking the removeable keypad apart and cleaning the board but it still doesn't work.

Has anyone had this before, is it a component that can be replaced or is it a new one.

The real pain is that its only to put the code in, after that I could live without preset 2, thats assuming it is the keypad.

If anyone has experienced this please share the wealth of information.

Have you tried borrowing the keypad from another unit and trying that? I presume that you have cleaned all the contacts in the head unit and your removable bit

I've just tried switching the keypad between my 2 cars and both work OK, both cars have same radio but 3 years age difference

 

Do you know anyone with same radio? Then you could test to find out if it

You can get the key pads very cheap on flee bay.

Yep it was just the keypad, borrowed one from an r reg escort and it worked a treat, found the code eventually on a sticker by the fuse box
