I am not a happy bunny right now. I did leave the ford galaxy club sticker on her..so who knows..she may reappear on here! He signed the paperwork..then left.so i went round the car with the guy picking her up. Not happy. Quote

big_kev Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 Don't worry Pet ......its only a car....nothing to be sad about. Its not as though its one of the kids leaving home. Actually I may have that the wrong way around. Quote
mumof4 Posted June 9, 2007 Author Report Posted June 9, 2007 Aye..i know its only a car....but im angry over the way she has gone.I guess i would have felt different if it had of been my choice to let her go..but when its taken out of your hands....Plus she was the only car i had driven since passing my test and the only car i had worked on.I'm getting used to the Vectra, least the Vectra doesnt jolt anymore when i bring the clutch up and move off now. :) Gotta admit...i dont miss having to crane my neck when turning right! I'll get another Galaxy one day. Quote
El Dingo Posted June 9, 2007 Report Posted June 9, 2007 I'll get another Galaxy one day. Now that's a good ambition! :) Quote
big_kev Posted June 9, 2007 Report Posted June 9, 2007 At least now you will be able to see if a pigeon has pooped on your roof ! Quote
mumof4 Posted June 9, 2007 Author Report Posted June 9, 2007 Christ..dont mention pigeons!..went into Boston today and i hit one of the buggers on the main road..it hit the passenger side of the windscreen and my eldest was sat there..my god she can scream!...had to stop and clear all the blood and feathers stuck to the screen..youngest two wanted to get out and have a look at the remains! I was also gutted when i was overtaken by a MKI Galaxy!..it just dissapeared into the distance..and what did the kids say??.."you gonna catch it up mum?"..i did eventually..only coz it was stopped at the lights! though gotta say..the Veccy can hit top speeds very quickly.Just doesnt pull off quick enough. Ivor_E_Tower Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 ROFL !!! maz - hope your luck changes soon, and I hope mine does too Quote
katman Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 though gotta say..the Veccy can hit top speeds very quickly.Just doesnt pull off quick enough. I had a Vectra as a hire car a few years ago. Cant remember the exact model but it was bigger than a 1.6 Performance was exellent but I found it a real pig to fill with fuel. On the way home I was taking it reasonalby gently as I was assessing its fuel economy as I needed to buy a car. The average MPG it was reporting was quite respectable (cant remember the figure but quite good for a big engine) and I was stuck behind a tractor. I saw an opportunity to overtake and floored it to pass the tractor and trailer. I swear the instananeous Miles Per Gallon changed to Gallons per Mile as it poured fuel into the engine. The average MPG dropped to 8mpg and took about 20 miles to get anywhere near normal. Based on the hassle I had filling it up I decided that it could probaly use fuel quicker than you could fill it up, and I didnt like the door mirrors. Terrible visibility. Other than that it semed fine but I doubt one would have been as reliable as the PUG 309 GLD that I did 280K in @ 54mpg Quote
