Hi and welcome I think this has been covered before(or mabe on another group) but you say you have changed the pads? please go through the procudure you did to change the pads? and why did you change the master cylinder? (was this at the same time as the pads or because the pedalhad no presure)? The basic answer to your problem is most likely to be air in the system but before anymore is said pleas explain! topbuzz Posted June 8, 2007 Author Report Posted June 8, 2007 okay what i did was just took the pads out and pushed the pistons back in to the calipers, then just put new pads in.Made sure brake fluid was topped up and put everything back together then went to try brakes(with engine running) no pressure at pedal whatsoever. So bled brakes as well as could still no pressure.Bought expensive master cylinder(thinking old one probably blown seals).Put that in changed vacuum pipe from servo as well, now only a little bit better, i am sure it,s just air in the system but shouldn,t the pedal be hard due to the pads taking up extra space. If i,ve missed something plz help. big_kev Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 Definitely sound like air in the system. I am a bit worried about the comment regarding topping up the Brake fluid ? Your new pads would be thicker than the old ones and therefore you would have too much fluid in the system and the last thing it would need would be topping up.Did you open any of the nipples to assist in pushing the pistons back.....if so this is where the air would have got in. Bleed the brakes again......I am assuming that you are using non-return valves or a bottle of fluid on the pipe from the nipples. Quote
