Another Aircon Problem

Hi there, great site by the way. Iv just bought a 2001 (Y) 2.3 ghia (48000 miles) and within a week guess what's not working. Being mad with myself is an understatement. The only thing i didn't check was? you guessed the AirCon. Having only just found this site i wasn't aware that the AirCon on the Galaxy was shipped in from the middle ages. It's the same old story about the compressor etc throwing the towle in. Its now going to cost me

o and the other little thing that's bothering me is the brake light warning light, it stays on for about 20-30 secs but iv checked the bulbs and they are fine. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

the brake light warning light stays on when you first start the car untill you touch the brakes...right now cant remember why..think its to check the circuit or something like that.

 

As for Aircon.....sounds steep to me....always get quotes from garages before you have any work carried out that may cost a few bob...only thing ive ever gone to Fords for is parts.

 

Make sure you get reinforced/extra load tyres on her..anything else MAY invalidate your insurance in the event of an accident.

 

As for a sign of things to come, any other probs you MAY get will more than likely of been covered, so search is a good engine to use plus we help where we can.

 

The Gal is a damn fine work horse and a lovely car to drive..

Hi there thanks for the help. I bought it privately so there is no taking it back. Although when i asked if everything was working i got told that everything was. Goes to show you cant trust many people these days. I did however write a good letter to him so ill keep you posted on what happens.
