mumof4 Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Ok..this morning..my car looked like this.. At just before 12pm..it looked like this..(you can see the water on the ground where the bloke put water in it and it just poured out from the split pipe all over the road.) then at just gone quarter to one..it looked like this.. And the reason??..a split water pipe..car went to top red in temp..before that it was hovering between 100 and red for about half an hour then it just top lined and i smelt burning. It is now in the garage where i got it from and i have a courtesy car of a Rover 420 N reg! I was on the A42 when it happened.got home just after 4pm...kids not happy as we never made our destination..but they loved being in the back of the recovery vehicle! what a flippin day! Quote
sparky Paul Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Oh dear. B) I'm having a bad day too... after fixing the central locking (tailgate anaconda wiring), fixing the flooded passenger footwell (rear wash pipe), replacing nearside headlamp (big stone), I've now found that the two of the exhaust hanger brackets have bust off, one on the front pipe and one on the middle. To cap it off, the middle pipe to cat joint is blowing too... B) Quote
Guest wolfie Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 bad day? mmm not sure about that? got up at 6am drove to Coventry, picked up a lift, drove to Stoke on Trent fitted said lift, no electrician so I ran the trunking and wired the power supply, got a tenna tip B) drove home, fitted an extra socket in my neighbours caravan and swapped out a couple of light switches for him, went home, got changed, took the covers off the pool and drowned my aches and pains with a quick dip :D and now to cap it all the breeze is picking up so I'll pop out after a quick bite to eat and fly my kites...mmm a real bad day for me then B) I dont now how I cope at times http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/images/smilies/cloud9.gif Quote

El Dingo Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Had a little alcohol already. Also had an expensive day - four new tyres. In the end, I didn't change the wheels as planned, partly due to finances, but partly because SWMBO had a blowout, and the car needs to be roadworthy for work. Those Dunlops might not have been worn out, but on close inspection were perished. 2004 tyres too - only three years old! We fitted Cooper - so far a bit quieter than the Dunlops, and a bit cheaper, even so - *wallet Ouch!*. Quote
mumof4 Posted June 3, 2007 Author Report Posted June 3, 2007 Just got the Gal insured for a few days till i get the vectra back.....cost 16 quid for a week, but she will be gone by the end of the week. That Rover is a nightmare to drive!..nippy, but cramped with the kids in it. Quote
