jimbobb Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 hi all how easy is it to swap normal front seats to the swivel sort as there is a pair in the local breakers yard. Is there any differance in fixings as i own a alhambra and will need to use the interior seat to keep it all the same. the seat that swivel are in a ford galaxy v6 any help or advice would be apreacated many thanks jamie Quote
28vr6 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 I think a side by side comparison would be required to fully appreciate the possibility of fitting your seat onto the swivel base - not really inspected the bottom of my seats that well but from memory it all seems to be welded together, I assume thats what you were asking. The other possibility is to remove and swap the seat covering between yours and the other seat which could be easier as the seat runners should be the same width on both - but a comparison would have to be made ;) Quote
big_kev Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 I believe the seats are the same and it is just the bases that are different. Should fit ok Quote

Guest wolfie Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 yes the swivel sub frames are only bolted to the seats and the floor pan, but the swivel lever IIRC is part of the seat! Quote
malcolm.dobell Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 there is a hadle on the seat base that permits seat height to be adjusted. on swivelling seats there a similar handle on the other side of the seat to release the catch that stops the seat swivelling when you don't want it to! If your current seat doesn't have this handle you might have a problem! Quote
