HI

i'm new to this site and to owning a galaxy, so thought i'd join up. have been out and bought the haynes manual (we have a good selection from metro to omega etc) but it doesn't talk, and its useful to talk or message others with similar probs to see how they get around things.

:D

and my husband is typical male so i will ask questions etc, where as he will just dismantle the whole car and still fail to find the answer!! lol

hope to get to know you all soon

well actually now you come to mention it, its a 2l petrol thingy, i think, not sure i'm so blonde!!! hehehe but to be honest not that well aquainted with it, as i'm still trying to fix the vectra my darling hubby took to bits and lost interest in!!!!

yep its definitely a 1996 ford galaxy ghia 2l petrol.

and for you males out there who think i'm useless as a female, my husband breaks the cars and i fix them!!!! :D

Hun, none of the females in this mad house are useless, we all fix our own cars! :16:

The FAQ section holds a mountain of info that may be worth a gander thru at some point.

Wolfie is in a league of his own..and if you scratch his ears...he purrs :D

will remember that, but not sure who'd win the fox or the wolf!! he he he

its nice to know there are other women out there who fix cars, as a nurse my collegues all look at me like i've gone mad if i say i'm working on the car on my days off!!

my mother in law is the worst type of woman driver, she can't even put petrol in the car herself, will drive 7 miles round trip to collect me so i can do it for her if the men are busy!!! :D

take care

hi

i definitely agree with the men act first and ask for advice later.......

my hubbys favorite excuse is 'you didn't tell me not to......'

(his birth certificate says he's older in years than me, but definitely has too much male pride and not enough sense) lol

this why i have a vectra with no wheels or steering rack on the drive way, but he's towing it to his mates workshop on friday........(there's gonna be some serious dents in the road that day!!!) lol

but i'm told it's fine as my being on maternity leave means i've got plenty of time to put it all back together...................

hi mumof4,

the vectra is a 1996 2.5 petrol v6 sri.

i don't hate or eat men, but definately bait them............... thats why hubbys friends and family call me scary!!!

and i wouldn't do that if it wasnt so easy to do....lol

while i'm here and as blonde as this is gonna sound, can you use vag com on a galaxy??

You should be able to ...... just be careful on the airbag unit tests. Have a look at the VAG COM issues and do a search on here ..there's loads of info.

You can use Vag Com but it will be limited to just some of the VW parts.

For example your engine is a ford lump and will not be detected.

Most of the rest of the car ( like the Alhambra ) is VW and should be ok.
