Auto Gearbox Cant Find Reverse

THIS IS HOW THE STORY GOES......ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED....................ANY SYMPATHY WOULD BE BETTER APPRECIATED. PLEASE HELP.

 

FORD GALAXY 1.9tdi AUTOMATIC 54 PLATE (VW GEARBOX)

 

I started having a problem every now and again the car would not go into reverse. On diagnostic it said "brake light switch fault". Headed straight for the forums anad took advise from a few posts to not change coluer of switch when repalcing. I had a black one....Ford gave me a purple one as this was the correct upgrade....Put this in but kept brake lights on all the time . Put old one back in and reverse worked for an hour or so. Went to VW they gave me a green lookalike and said it was an upgrade of the two that I had. This locked the gearbox after an hour or so and could not get it out of park. Put the old the original and had reverse for an hour or so then no reverse at all. Went to AUTO gearbox specialist and put on diagnostic report read " faulty brake light switch". Went back to Ford they then gave me another purple with block cogs. No reverse gear. Disconnected the gearbox managment and reverse works okay, connect it back up and no reverse.

 

FORD DEALERSHIP X 3 .dont know havent got a clue

VW Dealership reluctantly (ford badge on front of Galaxy) Dont know havent got a clue

 

Please help.anyone had a similar problem? Any help or views would be very much appreciated.
