Guest asmith6 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Hell all, I know very little about cars and just wanted some advice before taking it to the garage and getting stung. I have an S reg Ford KA 2 over the past year or so its been using/needing quite a lot of oil, I probably use a litre every 8-10 weeks. I mentioned this when it had a service and mot a few months ago and they said it was just cus it was getting older. Over the past month or so I've noticed a slight oil leak occurring, but because I park it on the street in various spaces I could never be sure it was my car it was just a couple of spots of oil. The past few days its seemed to get bigger and its definitely my car. My old man just come over for a cuppa and we had a look under the car, he suggested checking the oil sump plug was tight enough which it was but we noticed the oil pan was fairly wet with oil. Cleaned it off but not convinced thats where its coming from (just left a cloth under to try and gauge where its from, its on the front drivers side. Does anyone have any ideas of what else we could look at before taking it to the garage? Quote
