Have You Got A Tow Bar?

ok guy's when i got the galaxy it had a bar fitted but some lovely chap (salesman probally) had removed the ball ect

 

so basically the bar is all there with all the electricsbut i am missing the ball fitting and the ball what i'm trying to do is figure out what make the bar is so i dont have to replace the whole lot just get the missing part (basically main part of the bar to the ball)

 

under the gal i have this part left so i am basically asking you all to go look at your bars and see if yours is the same and if it is let me know what brand of bar it is so i can get the parts to complete it

Are the photos of the two side pieces bolted to the car and are you looking for the bit that goes from one to the other behind the bumper

no this is the photo's of the 2 peices in the center of the bar. it's all still there bolted behind the bumper, the longer side is just visable under the bumper in the center and hardly anything is missing exept that center peice and the ball

would be nice if it was a witter they are usually good quality, seems a shameto have the bar there and not to be able to use it just because of this little bit

Lookd like my Witter but, try searching through the tow bar m'facturers site, Ebay etc to see if anything matches your bar

Whitty ...I've had a look and its nothing like my Witter. Basically what you are looking at is the Swan neck that attaches to yours via four bolts. Mine has a swan neck but is only attached using two bolts that are horizonatally positioned compared with yours. Below the two holes, in the middle about 1/2 inch down, is an elongated hole with nothing in it. Sorry but I didnt have my camera with me to show you.

just looking on thewitter site @ the fitting instructions and it does look just like mine in the drawring but i havn't got a witter dealer locally so i cant go check with them it's a pain in the a*se and seems like such a shame to rip it off to replace the whole bar

Witty...I'm new to the forum and Galaxy ownership, so please bear with me.

 

I've just fitted a Witter towbar to my 2003 Galaxy, Part number F102Q Quantum Detachable.

It looks like you have the main bar of the same towbar

 

If it was a fixed towbar your missing the flanged/swan neck and spacers

or the receptor/socket and detachable towball of a detachable system

 

The lower hole is just for a breakaway cable

 

I've tried to add an image so you can compare, but can't get it to work

Looks like the leftovers of my Witter detachable tow bar. If you have reverse park sensors then removable is best. If not its cheaper to replace the whole lot with a fixed bar.
