Noise When Breaking

Hi any help and advice would be much appreciated please, on breaking there is a screeching noise, only happens on breaking and at no other time. I have had both sets of pads cleaned and it still continues?

Its a 1999 2.3 zetec.

 

Any ideas please.

Are the clips that hold the pads in place all present and correct? Any clips or shims fitted behind the pads are there to eliminate brake squeal, and should always be refitted after changing the pads.

 

have you changed the pads recently? and what do you mean by cleaning the pads?

 

A film of copperslip on the back (metallic) side of the pad also can be used to eliminate squealing.
