rushy Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 My 96 Gal V6 is in desperate need of a service. so seeing as we've got an extended weekend, I'm going to go for it. I've got the oil and filter, and went to my local motor factors to get some ingnition leads. He quoted me 120 quid for the set!!! Rang Halfords, gave reg of vehicle and they confirmed make model etc (I had to check as I've got a private plate) and for a set of leads, they quoted me 30 quid. What is the difference, are Halfords leads that bad in quality? Also, Halfords don't list the plugs for the V6 Gal!!! Thanks Quote
Guest wolfie Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 gf&s or euro car parts, gf&s stock beru leads that seem ok! you may find you will need a plug lead tool! also available at most good motor factors if your lucky! Quote
dipsomaniac Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 as the leads sit a long way into the head you need a special tool to remove/fit. the manufactures leads have the tabs on the caps to enable you to fit the tool and remove/fit the leads properly. if you use leads that don't have the tabs you will damage the leads when removing/fitting. are bosch leads really Quote
